I love Lisa de St. Croix. She is a fellow earthen artist who lives the life of the Creatrix. We met when I lived in Santa Fe, and have been friends ever since. She was also one of the featured artists in MK Barr’s movie, Painted in the Desert about my own creative underworld journeys in New Mexico. When I first moved to the land of enchantment I was told about another woman in the dance community who had made her own Oracle deck, as I had. I looked forward to meeting this other sacred card creator, and was not disappointed. She paints beautiful, and at times enormous mythical portraits of herself and others represented elementally, sometimes as the sky, becoming a swirl of leaves with her lover, and graphically portraying a snake winding up through her chakras. Her work rekindles our engagement with the hidden, archetypal aspects of life, bringing The Mystery front and center in her sensual and spirited work.
Out of her years of apprenticing to her dreams, and the subtle signs and synchronicities of the earth, animals and Spirits she took on the enormous task of illustrating her own Tarot deck. Tarot is a classical form of divination, a pathway through the fullness of life, from innocent beginnings to the mastery of evolution fulfilled.
Lisa’s own mastery of tapping into the visions hidden within the psyche created fertile ground for her own Southwest inspired deck to emerge from. The entire process has been a four and a half year trust walk, and the outcome is a wonderful addition to the world of divinatory tools. I cannot wait to get my hands on one, and you too can secure one of the premier 1000 printed (for only $44!) in spring 2014 through supporting her Indiegogo campaign to publish the first edition. This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome a unique new wisdom tool into your own journey to decipher the twist and turns inherent in any metamorphosis. Here is the link to view her campaign, she has already met her goal of raising half the cost of the first set of decks, and I think it would be fabulous to have the entire cost of the first edition covered just as she finishes painting the project. I feel so blessed to have such a vibrant and delightful fellow artists in my life.
